Taiwanese Actress and Wife of Gu Jun-yeop, Seo Hee-won, Passes Away at 48

Taiwanese actress Seo Hee-won, who was married to Gu Jun-yeop, has tragically passed away, leaving many in mourning. Reports from various media outlets, including Sina Entertainment and ETtoday, revealed that Seo died on February 2 at the age of 48 due to pneumonia caused by the flu while traveling in Japan with her family.

Seo and her family had departed for Japan on January 29, where she reportedly exhibited symptoms of a cold and asthma on the day of their departure. After being taken to the emergency room on the third day of her illness, she succumbed to her condition in a Tokyo hospital.

Following her passing, Gu Jun-yeop and other family members conducted some funeral rites in Japan before returning to Taiwan with her remains on February 5.

Seo's 17-year-old nephew, who is the son of her sister Seo Hee-han, was also part of the trip and returned to Taiwan on a chartered flight with the family. On February 6, he shared a heartfelt farewell message on his social media, posting a photo of Seo and writing, "Forever love you," accompanied by white dove and heart emojis to express his grief.

Reports indicate that Seo Hee-won cherished her sister Seo Hee-je's three children and her sister Seo Hee-han's children as if they were her own. Her nieces and nephews were also very close to her. Seo Hee-je's eldest daughter, who studies at a university in the United States, was not on the trip but rushed back to Taiwan upon hearing the news of Seo's passing.

Meanwhile, Gu Jun-yeop, carrying Seo's remains, returned home with family on February 5. Seo Hee-je expressed her belief that Seo is now in heaven, happy and free from worries. She also announced that there would be no formal farewell ceremony, stating, "She was always a humble person. If you miss Hee-won, please keep her in your heart."
