Super Junior's Kyuhyun Remembers Comfort from Girls' Generation's Yoona
On December 27, an episode titled 'Make It Happen! Honorary Firefighter Kim Junmyeon' was released on the online channel 'Kyuhyun'. In this episode, Kyuhyun of Super Junior met with his SM Entertainment junior, Suho from EXO, to chat. Kyuhyun introduced Suho as 'the friend I've known the longest at SM'. Suho humorously noted that he joined the company before Kyuhyun, and they have been close since Kyuhyun's first day. Upon learning that Suho had joined just three months earlier, Kyuhyun jokingly asked, 'You were acting all high and mighty over just three months?' This led to laughter between the two.
Kyuhyun then shared a heartfelt memory from his trainee days, revealing that he had cried while filming a music video. He explained, 'When you're filming a close-up, you have to pose, right? I was nervous because it was my first time. I thought I was doing well, but they asked me to move more. After ten takes without success, I got so upset that I went to a corner and cried.'
He recalled, 'While I was crying, someone started patting my back. I turned around, and it was Yoona.' Suho chimed in, asking if Yoona was just a cameo at that time. Kyuhyun confirmed, 'She was just a cameo in the music video, but she came over to comfort me. It was a bit embarrassing when this younger girl, who was about 3-4 years younger than me, said, 'Oppa, cheer up.' In that moment, I felt a sense of self-doubt.' Suho empathized, noting how strange it was for an adult to be comforted by a high school student.
