SUPER JUNIOR Prepares for 20th Anniversary with New Album and Tour

SUPER JUNIOR is set to release their 12th studio album, ‘Super Junior25’ (슈퍼주니어 이오), just one day before their 20th anniversary. As they gear up for this milestone, let’s take a look back at their remarkable journey in the K-pop industry.
**Hit Song Legacy: The K-Pop Phenomenon of ‘Sorry, Sorry’**
SUPER JUNIOR made their debut in November 2005 with the track ‘Twins’. They quickly gained attention for their unique large group dynamic and synchronized dance performances. Following hits like ‘Miracle’, ‘Show Me Your Love’ (a collaboration with TVXQ), and ‘U’, they achieved a Grand Slam at year-end music awards, winning the Rookie of the Year award.
In 2009, they released their third studio album’s title track, ‘Sorry, Sorry’, which not only sparked the ‘Suju Syndrome’ but also marked the beginning of the K-pop phenomenon. The song dominated music charts, winning ten awards on domestic music shows and setting records for album sales. Its iconic dance moves inspired a global cover dance craze, making SUPER JUNIOR the first Korean artist to achieve a Gold Record in the Philippines and topping music charts in Thailand and Taiwan.
Since then, SUPER JUNIOR has solidified their status as a leading K-pop idol group, producing numerous hits such as ‘You’re My’, ‘Bonamana’, ‘Mr. Simple’, ‘Sexy, Free & Single’, ‘Devil’, and ‘Black Suit’. Their accolades include being the first non-Chinese artist to win the ‘Artist of the Year’ at the KKBOX Music Awards in Taiwan in 2019 and maintaining a record of 200 consecutive weeks at the top of the KKBOX Korean Album Chart in 2021.
In 2018, they ventured into international collaborations, featuring American artist Leslie Grace and working with DJ duo Play N Skillz on the Latin pop track ‘Lo Siento’, which made them the first Korean act to enter the Billboard Latin chart.
As they celebrate their 20th anniversary, SUPER JUNIOR continues to showcase their diverse talents and strong teamwork, preparing to release their new single ‘Express Mode’, which promises to be another hit.
**Legendary Concert Kings: The Ongoing Success of ‘SUPER SHOW’**
Another point of pride for SUPER JUNIOR is their concert series, ‘SUPER SHOW’. Since 2008, they have completed nine tours under this brand, known for its exceptional vocal performances, dynamic choreography, and impressive production. The concerts have taken place in over 30 regions worldwide, totaling 194 performances, including the 2024 special ‘SUPER SHOW SPIN-OFF’. They have set records as the first Korean group to hold a solo concert in France, the largest South American tour by a Korean artist, and the first Asian act to perform a solo concert in Saudi Arabia.
This year, to commemorate their 20th anniversary, they will launch a new tour, ‘SUPER SHOW 10’, starting with performances in Seoul from August 22-24 at the KSPO DOME, followed by stops in Hong Kong, Jakarta, Manila, Mexico City, Monterrey, Lima, Santiago, Taipei, Bangkok, Nagoya, Singapore, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, Kaohsiung, and Saitama, reaching 16 locations worldwide by March 2026.
**All-Time Multipurpose Players: SUPER JUNIOR’s Continuous Evolution**
SUPER JUNIOR is renowned for being a ‘multiplayer group’, with each member showcasing diverse talents. From the beginning, they formed various unit groups based on individual strengths, pioneering the concept of sub-units in K-pop. Notable units include ‘SUPER JUNIOR-K.R.Y.’ featuring main vocalists Yesung, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun, ‘SUPER JUNIOR-D&E’ with friends Donghae and Eunhyuk, and ‘SUPER JUNIOR-L.S.S.’ with Leeteuk, Shindong, and Siwon.
Members actively participate in songwriting and composing, demonstrating their musical abilities while also branching out into various fields such as variety shows, films, dramas, musicals, MCing, DJing, and concert directing. As they continue to evolve and showcase their talents, fans eagerly anticipate the synergy that SUPER JUNIOR will bring as they celebrate their 20th anniversary.
