Sunye Reflects on Collaboration with BIGBANG

On March 12, during the special episode of MBC's Radio Star (라디오스타) titled 'Unlimited Challenge', Sunye (선예) shared her experiences of performing alongside BIGBANG. The episode featured guests Park Kyung-rim (박경림), Sunye, Hahwonmi (하원미), and Jung Dong-won (정동원).

Hahwonmi, wife of baseball player Choo Shin-soo, mentioned her recent ventures as a YouTuber and Pilates instructor, expressing her desire to showcase her independence. She humorously recounted her husband's concerns about her public image, saying, "He worried that I might reveal too much and ruin the 'queen of support' image he had built for me." This prompted laughter from the audience, with Kim Gu-ra (김구라) chiming in that even Ahn Jung-hwan (안정환) felt the same, suggesting that wives often outshine their husbands.

Hahwonmi also reminisced about her connection with Sunye, recalling the day she gave birth to her second child on September 4, 2009, when the Wonder Girls (원더걸스) performed at an event for her husband. She humorously noted her urgency to get to the baseball stadium while in labor, saying, "I had to give birth quickly and catch a flight right after cutting the umbilical cord!" This anecdote brought laughter to the set.

Sunye then discussed the close timing of activities between Wonder Girls and BIGBANG, stating, "We often shared stages during year-end performances, and fans affectionately dubbed us 'Bang Girl.' As the leader, I collaborated closely with BIGBANG's leader, G-Dragon (지드래곤)."

She added that despite their frequent interactions, BIGBANG members were quite shy, making it difficult for them to engage in conversation. "I felt like a class president since all of them were younger than me," she remarked.

Sunye also shared a light-hearted moment from their rehearsals, saying, "While practicing, there was some physical contact. The BIGBANG members would ask if it was okay to touch, and we would practice together. Taeyang (태양) once bravely asked, 'You go to church, right?' trying to break the ice, but the conversation didn’t flow as smoothly as he hoped."

Recently, Sunye mentioned that Daesung (대성) appeared on YouTube with Yubin (유빈), and it felt like a reunion with an old elementary school friend, which she found delightful.
