Sunwoo Yongyeo Reveals She Paid Off Husband's 20 Billion Won Debt

On the February 15 episode of MBN's 속풀이쇼 동치미 (Talk Show Dongchimi), actress Sunwoo Yongyeo shared her shocking story of how she ended up with a debt of 20 billion won due to her husband. She revealed that she initially planned to retire from the entertainment industry after getting married. However, on her wedding day, her husband failed to show up at the venue, causing a media frenzy.

Sunwoo recounted an incident where a woman approached her, claiming that her husband was helping a friend pay off a debt. This friend had incurred a significant amount of debt, totaling 17.5 million won, after losing an election for a National Assembly seat.

The woman insisted that Sunwoo's husband needed her signature on a document to facilitate the payment. At just 23 years old, Sunwoo felt overwhelmed and signed without fully understanding the implications. When her husband finally arrived, he questioned her decision to sign the document.

As the situation escalated, creditors began to appear at filming locations, prompting Sunwoo to work tirelessly to repay the debts. She disclosed that the total debt amounted to what would be equivalent to 20 billion won today. In response, she transferred all financial control to her husband and handed over her bank account to him.
