Sunwoo Yongnyeo Shares Insights on Her Itaewon Property and Life Journey

Veteran actress Sunwoo Yongnyeo (80) recently made headlines after showcasing her luxurious lifestyle, including driving a high-end sedan to enjoy hotel breakfasts. This time, she revealed her property in Itaewon, Seoul, during a stroll through the streets of Yongsan on her YouTube channel, 'Sunpoong Sunwoo Yongnyeo,' alongside YouTuber Lalal's alter ego, Lee Myung-hwa, born in 1958.
As they walked through Itaewon, Sunwoo remarked, "This is our neighborhood. We've lived here for three generations. It used to be a nice place to live, not so crowded like this. Now, I don’t live here anymore; I rent it out and reside in Dongbu Ichon-dong."
Pointing to a narrow alley, she reminisced, "This was our market. It completely changed after the 1988 Olympics." She identified a specific sign, saying, "That’s our house. It’s been 65 years. Now, I rent it out." Lee Myung-hwa expressed envy, saying, "You’re a big player in Yongsan. I should have bought property back then during the Olympics; my life would have been different."
Sunwoo shared a lesson from her mother, who advised against receiving too much rent, stating, "We just sit back and collect rent, but those people work hard to pay us. If we take too much, it burdens them." She added, "We only take a little rent, and my mother’s last wish was that I shouldn’t take too much, even after I’m gone."
Previously, Sunwoo revealed on her YouTube channel that she enjoys a daily routine of driving to a hotel for a breakfast buffet. She explained, "When my husband was alive, I had to cook for the family. After he passed away and the kids got married, I realized I need to live for myself," emphasizing the importance of a healthy and independent life in her later years.
Sunwoo Yongnyeo debuted as a dancer in 1965 with TBC and began her broadcasting career with the drama 'Sanggung Nine.' After modeling for various brands, she retired in her mid-20s following childbirth. After immigrating to the United States in 1982 and returning to Korea in 1989, she gained immense popularity in the late 1990s with the SBS drama 'Sunpoong Obstetrics and Gynecology.'
