Sung Joon Expresses Gratitude at the 2024 SBS Acting Awards

On December 21, 2024, actor 성준 (Sung Joon) shared heartfelt thanks to his family during the 2024 SBS Acting Awards held at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul. The event was hosted by 신동엽 (Shin Dong-yup), 김혜윤 (Kim Hye-yoon), and 김지연 (Kim Ji-yeon, also known as Bona).

Sung Joon, along with 김성균 (Kim Sung-kyun), received the Male Excellence Award in the drama series category for their performances in '열혈사제2' (The Fiery Priest 2). Kim Sung-kyun expressed his gratitude, stating, "I was just sitting here without any thoughts. I received this award during Season 1 as well, and it’s meaningful to receive it again in Season 2. I want to thank the staff, including directors 박보람 (Park Bo-ram) and 김종환 (Kim Jong-hwan), and all the talented actors who bring me joy and love every moment we meet. I truly appreciate it."

Following this, Sung Joon remarked, "Having worked for over ten years, I always hoped that the public would recognize my efforts. Thank you to my agency for believing in me. I know it must have been challenging to cast me, so I’m especially grateful to director 박보람 (Park Bo-ram) for having the courage to choose me, and to writer 박재범 (Park Jae-bum) as well."

He continued, "I feel awkward receiving compliments. I want to thank (김)남길 (Kim Nam-gil) and all the other actors, especially (이)하늬 (Lee Ha-nee). I’m grateful that I can show my family what I do for a living through this recognition." He indirectly mentioned his wife and son, expressing his appreciation for their support.

Sung Joon concluded with a light-hearted comment, saying, "I might have forgotten many people, but I sincerely thank everyone I’ve worked with, and I want to dedicate this honor to Buddha," which brought laughter to the audience.
