Sulli's Brother Speaks Out After Kim Soo-hyun's Press Conference

On April 1, 2025, A, the brother of the late singer Sulli, conducted a live broadcast to express his views following actor Kim Soo-hyun's press conference. A commented on Kim's choice of an all-black outfit, suggesting that it reflected a sense of psychological stability, despite the somber context. He noted, 'People who are mentally unstable usually don’t pay much attention to their attire, but he seemed calm today.' A also remarked on Kim's emotional display during the conference, questioning the authenticity of his tears and suggesting that Kim's self-identification as a 'star' contradicted his earlier statements about humility.
A expressed skepticism about Kim's claims, stating, 'I knew he wouldn’t admit to anything. I wasn’t surprised or outraged.' He further pondered Kim's motivations, suggesting that the actor's fear of losing what he has might be influencing his behavior. A questioned Kim's sense of grievance, stating, 'I can’t understand what he feels is unfair. It seems he has less to be upset about, given his desire to protect his interests.'
Earlier, A had posted critical comments about Kim Soo-hyun, particularly regarding Sulli's involvement in the film 'Real.' He raised concerns about the lack of clarity in the script regarding intimate scenes with Kim, and alleged that Sulli was pressured into performing these scenes without a body double, despite one being present on set.
During the press conference held at the Stanford Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Kim Soo-hyun denied allegations from Sulli's family that he had a relationship with the underage actress Kim Sae-ron, asserting that the claims were false and that the evidence presented by the opposing party was manipulated. He stated, 'I submitted my conversations from 2016 and 2018 to a verification agency, which concluded that the individuals in those messages are not the same person.'
Kim's legal representatives have filed defamation lawsuits against Sulli's family and others, seeking 12 billion KRW in damages. Kim concluded by affirming his commitment to clear his name, stating, 'I will accept any criticism for what I have done, but I will not accept blame for things I haven’t done. I want to prove my innocence for those who still believe in me.'
