As the posts gained traction, Choi responded to critics, questioning how fans could be unhelpful and stating, "I didn't even mention Soo-hyun's name, yet people rush in. They must be going crazy without fact-checking." However, Goldmedalist clarified that while Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron did date, it was after she turned 18, from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, and that the legal notice was part of a process related to her DUI incident, not a demand for payment.
