Stray Kids Wins 'K-Pop Album of the Year' at 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards
Stray Kids has been awarded the 'K-Pop Album of the Year' at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, held on March 17 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The group received this honor for their mini-album 'ATE' (에이트), marking their second consecutive win in this category after taking home the trophy last year for their third studio album '★★★★★ (5-STAR)' (파이브스타). This achievement further solidifies Stray Kids' status as a global top artist.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards, organized by the largest online radio broadcaster in the U.S., iHeartRadio, has been recognizing the most played artists and songs on its platform since 2014.
Released in July 2024, 'ATE' embodies Stray Kids' ambitious goal to dominate the music scene. The album sold 232,000 units in its first week in the U.S., debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Stray Kids made history as the first group to have five consecutive number-one entries on this chart, starting from their debut project 'ODDINARY' (오디너리) in 2022. The title track 'Chk Chk Boom' (칙칙붐) also made its mark by reaching number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their third entry on the chart and earning a nomination for 'K-Pop Song of the Year' at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Stray Kids has been gaining recognition at various international award shows, including winning 'Top Global K-Pop Artist' at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards and 'Music Video of the Year' at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards. With the addition of the iHeartRadio trophy, they continue to solidify their global presence.
The group is set to release a new digital single titled 'Mixtape: dominATE' (믹스테이프: 도미네이트) on March 21 at 1 PM EST (midnight local time). This surprise gift for fans comes just ahead of their seventh anniversary, with performances of the unit tracks scheduled to debut during their world tour in Santiago from March 27 to 28.
