Stray Kids Achieve Historic Milestone with Over 30 Million Albums Shipped
Stray Kids have made history by surpassing 30 million albums shipped in both South Korea and Japan. As of December 31, 2024, the group has achieved a total of 31,182,158 albums shipped across 25 releases. This includes 17 domestic albums, starting from their pre-debut album 'Mixtape' (믹스테이프) released in January 2018 to their latest release, SKZHOP HIPTAPE (스키즈합 힙테이프) '合 (HOP)' (합 (합)), which collectively sold 27,723,267 copies according to Circle Chart. Additionally, their eight Japanese albums, beginning with the first best album 'SKZ2020' released in March 2020 and culminating with the second Japanese studio album 'GIANT' (자이언트) released in November last year, accounted for 3,458,891 copies.
In October 2022, Stray Kids had already crossed the 10 million mark with 18 albums released in both countries. Following this, the release of seven new albums has propelled their total to over 30 million, showcasing their rapid rise in popularity and impressive album sales.
Notably, their third studio album '★★★★★ (5-STAR)' (파이브스타), released in June 2023, set a K-pop record with pre-orders of 5.13 million and first-week sales of 4,617,499 copies. By August, it had surpassed 5 million copies sold, making it JYP Entertainment's first pentamillion seller. This album was also recognized as the best-selling K-pop album in the U.S. for 2023.
Riding the wave of global popularity, Stray Kids made their debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, a first in the chart's 69-year history, and have since achieved six consecutive number one entries. Starting with 'ODDINARY' (오디너리) in March 2022, followed by 'MAXIDENT' (맥시던트), and their 2023 releases '★★★★★ (5-STAR)' and '樂-STAR' (락스타), they continued this success with 'ATE' (에이트) and '合 (HOP)' in 2024. Recently, they were recognized in Luminate's '2024 Year-End Music Report' for having two albums, 'ATE' and '合 (HOP)', in the top 10 for U.S. Top CD Album Sales, making them the only artist to achieve this for three consecutive years.
In 2025, Stray Kids are set to further solidify their status as global top artists. They recently announced the continuation of their world tour 'dominATE' in Hong Kong on January 18 and 19, and will embark on a large-scale stadium tour across Latin America, North America, and Europe starting in March. Before that, they will hold their fifth official fan meeting 'SKZ 5'CLOCK' (스키즈 파이브어클락) at the Incheon Inspire Arena from February 14 to 16, providing fans with a special opportunity to connect.
