Starship's New Boy Group Project 'Debut's Plan' Sparks Excitement Among K-Pop Fans

Starship Entertainment's ambitious global project, 'Debut's Plan,' which chronicles the debut process of their upcoming boy group, has captivated K-Pop fans worldwide with its latest episode focusing on 'Weakness Position Evaluation.' Released on March 28 at 9:30 PM via the 'New Kids on the Starship' YouTube channel, Episode 3 showcases the journey of the trainees as they work to overcome their weaknesses and evolve into well-rounded idols. The scores from the first plan, 'Strength Position Evaluation,' combined with the new evaluations, led to the formation of the second 'New Kids 7.'

The 'Debut's Plan' will see the release of new tracks from the dance team, including 'New A.G.K.,' 'DWN,' 'So G.oo.D,' and 'I’m OK, You’re OK' on March 30 at 6 PM on various music platforms like Melon. 'New A.G.K.,' which was revealed during the 'Strength Position Evaluation,' is a concept-driven hip-hop track that received rave reviews, while 'DWN' showcases the unique presence and confidence of the trainees over a cool hip-hop beat. The song 'So G.oo.D' expresses love for someone who has stolen the singer's heart, and 'I’m OK, You’re OK' conveys the desire to do anything for a loved one. Following the performances, fans have been eagerly requesting the release of these tracks.

Before the 'Weakness Position Evaluation,' senior idols like NCT's Johnny and IVE's Liz and Rei made surprise visits to support the trainees at their practice dome, offering mental health tips. Johnny shared his personal mental management strategies, emphasizing that the effort put into practice will reflect on stage. Liz and Rei engaged in a Q&A session with the trainees and attended rehearsals to encourage them.

The first performance of the 'Weakness Position Evaluation' was delivered by the 'So G.oo.D' team, consisting of Kim Ji-yong, Woo Hao, Lee Tae-geon, Lee Jun-seo, and Jang Gyu-hyun. Despite challenges, including a last-minute change in the main dancer from Lee Tae-geon to Woo Hao, the team's chemistry shone brightly on stage.

In contrast, the 'I’m OK, You’re OK' team, featuring Kim Yoon-seo, Miyata Haru, Jung Se-min, Jo Min-jae, and Choo Yu-chan, quickly decided on Miyata Haru as their main dancer and demonstrated strong teamwork. They faced harsh critiques during rehearsals but remained dedicated to improving. Miyata Haru, known for his cheerful demeanor, even shed tears during the process, but their hard work paid off, impressing the critical trainer Choi Young-jun.

The 'Girls' team, led by Kim Min-jae, faced minor conflicts during part distribution but managed to reorganize by trading Jin Bo-min to the 'Shine With Me' team, resulting in an energetic performance. The 'Shine With Me' team, which included Park Seong-hyun, Park Jun-hwan, Seok-jun, Suzuki Kaira, and Jang Yong-hoon, had to adapt to the absence of Park Seong-hyun due to health issues, but they filled the gap with Jin Bo-min. Special trainer Sistar's Soyou provided targeted lessons to help Seok-jun and Park Jun-hwan improve their performance.

After video evaluations, the board and trainer team selected the all-rounder trainees and those with growth potential. The winning teams for each position were 'So G.oo.D' and 'Girls,' with Kim Ji-yong and Kim Min-jae taking the top spots. Miyata Haru, who ranked first overall among the 21 trainees, expressed mixed emotions about losing to 'So G.oo.D' while celebrating his top rank.

The second 'New Kids 7' consists of Park Won-bin, Woo Hao, Suzuki Kaira, Kim Min-jae, Kim Ji-yong, Lee Woo-joo, and Baek Jun-hyuk. New additions Kim Min-jae, Lee Woo-joo, and Baek Jun-hyuk joined the 'New Kids 7,' while the first 'New Kids 7' members Choo Yu-chan, Jang Yong-hoon, and Jang Gyu-hyun did not make the cut this time. The friendly rivalry between Kim Min-jae and Jang Yong-hoon adds an exciting dynamic to the upcoming episodes.

Episode 4, set to air on April 4, will introduce the third plan, 'Communication Evaluation,' featuring MONSTA X's I.M and Minhyuk, raising anticipation among fans. The trainees' struggles with performing K-Pop songs in foreign languages promise to add to the drama and excitement of the series.
