Squid Game Season 2 Takes the World by Storm

The Netflix original series Squid Game (오징어 게임) Season 2 has once again created a global phenomenon, securing the top spot in 93 countries worldwide. According to the OTT ranking site FlixPatrol, Squid Game 2 was released on December 26 and achieved the number one position in the global TV show category just three days later. This remarkable feat highlights the series' immense global appeal, as it topped the charts in all 93 countries surveyed.

Initially, Squid Game 2 reached number one in 92 countries right after its release, and the following day, it added New Zealand to its list, bringing the total to 93. The show has found success not only in major markets like South Korea, the United States, Japan, France, Germany, and Brazil but also in New Zealand, showcasing its widespread popularity.

The storyline of Squid Game 2 revolves around Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the deadly games seeking revenge, and his confrontation with the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun). The series also introduces new participants who engage in suspenseful survival games.

Thanks to the massive success of Season 1, anticipation for Squid Game 2 was high even before its release. However, the show has received mixed reviews from various international media outlets, with some critics arguing that the narrative lacks depth compared to the first season. As Squid Game 2 maintains its global box office momentum, many are eager to see what final results it will achieve.
