Squid Game Season 2 Heads to the Golden Globes

'Squid Game Season 2' is making its way to the United States. On January 3, director Hwang Dong-hyuk and lead actor Lee Jung-jae departed for Los Angeles to attend the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. The ceremony, which honors global cinema and American television, is set to take place on January 5.
The 'Squid Game' series previously made headlines at the 79th Golden Globe Awards in January 2022, where it won Best Television Series and Lee Jung-jae took home the award for Best Actor in a Television Series. Additionally, actor O Yeong-su became the first Korean actor to win a Golden Globe.
For the upcoming 82nd ceremony, 'Squid Game Season 2' has been nominated for Best Television Series, despite the fact that the entire season has not yet been officially released on Netflix. It is competing against other notable series such as Disney+'s 'Shogun', Netflix's 'The Diplomat', Apple TV+'s 'Slow Horses', Prime Video's 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith', and Peacock's 'Day of the Jackal'.
However, given that 'Squid Game' Season 2 is part of a larger narrative that will continue into Season 3, it may face challenges in securing the award this time around. The Golden Globe Awards will be broadcasted by CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
