Squid Game Nominated for Multiple Awards at Gold Derby TV Awards

The Netflix series Squid Game (오징어 게임) has once again showcased its global impact by receiving several nominations at the Gold Derby TV Awards. According to the official Gold Derby website, the second season of Squid Game has been nominated for both Outstanding Drama Series and Ensemble of the Year.

The acting categories also feature notable nominations. Lee Jung-jae (이정재), who starred in the lead role in Season 1 and continues in Season 2, is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor. Meanwhile, Lee Byung-hun (이병헌), who plays the Front Man, and Choi Seung-hyun (최승현), known as T.O.P from BIGBANG, are both nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

In the Outstanding Supporting Actress category, Kang Ae-sim (강애심), who plays Jang Geum-ja, and Park Gyu-young (박규영), who portrays the North Korean defector No-eul, have received nominations. Additionally, Gong Yoo (공유), who appeared as the Ddakji Man in Season 1, is nominated for Outstanding Guest Performer.

Overall, Squid Game has garnered nominations in eight categories, highlighting the strong casting, social messages, and high-quality direction that have been recognized in both seasons. Most of the main characters from Season 2 have received nominations in their respective categories, further demonstrating the collective influence of the Squid Game team.

The Gold Derby TV Awards, now in its 22nd year, is organized by the award prediction platform Gold Derby and evaluates excellence in approximately 30 categories, including drama, variety, animation, and film. The winners will be announced on August 18.
