Special Prosecutor's Team Conducts Search at National Police Agency in Kim Geon-hee Investigation

On July 8, 2025, the special prosecutor's team investigating allegations against Kim Geon-hee conducted a search at the National Police Agency. According to legal sources, the team sent investigators to the Criminal Information and Intelligence Bureau of the police to carry out the search. They stated that this action was taken to obtain relevant materials as part of their cooperation in the investigation.

The search is reportedly linked to allegations involving the Unification Church. Previously, the police had been investigating claims of overseas gambling involving Unification Church officials. However, suspicions have arisen that Yoon, the head of the Unification Church, may have used the assistance of Jeon Seong-bae, a close associate of former President Yoon Suk-yeol and a figure known as 'Gonjin Beopsa,' to suppress these allegations.
