Special Prosecutor Team to Interview Key Officials in Kim Geon-hee Investigation

The special prosecutor team led by Min Jung-ki, tasked with investigating allegations against Kim Geon-hee, the spouse of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, announced plans to meet with key officials on June 18. The team will conduct interviews starting at 2 PM with Park Se-hyun, the Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, followed by a meeting with Park Seung-hwan, the acting Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, at 2:35 PM, and concluding with Shin Eung-seok, the Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, at 4 PM.
Chief Prosecutor Park is currently revisiting the investigation into Kim Geon-hee's alleged involvement in stock manipulation related to Deutsche Motors, a case that was previously dismissed in October of last year. He also leads the special investigation team for the '12·3 Martial Law' case.
Acting Chief Prosecutor Park Seung-hwan had previously investigated allegations regarding Kim Geon-hee receiving a Dior bag, which was also dismissed last October. He is currently overseeing the duties of Lee Chang-soo, who retired from the position on June 3.
Chief Prosecutor Shin is looking into allegations that a shaman, Jeon Seong-bae, facilitated the transfer of luxury bags and necklaces to Kim Geon-hee from Yoon Mo, a former head of the Unification Church's (now known as the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification) global mission headquarters.
On June 17, President Lee Jae-myung appointed four special prosecutors, including Kim Hyung-geun, to assist in the investigation of Kim Geon-hee. The team has set up a temporary office in Seocho-dong, Seoul, and is expected to move to the KT Gwanghwamun West Building in Jongno-gu in about two weeks.
