On December 14, 2024, the National Assembly of South Korea voted to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol, with the vote taking place at 4 PM. All 300 members of the assembly participated in the voting process. The results showed 204 votes in favor, 85 against, 3 abstentions, and 8 invalid votes, leading to the approval of the impeachment motion. Following this decision, President Yoon has been suspended from his duties, with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo stepping in as acting president.
Immediately after the impeachment was confirmed, actor Ahn Bo-hyun expressed his excitement on a private messaging platform, posting multiple thumbs-up emojis with the message, "It passed!!!!!". P.O (표지훈), a member of Block B and actor, shared with fans, "Hoo, we can breathe a sigh of relief. Let’s all have a happier evening today!" He later posted a photo of a candle on his personal social media.
Actor Kim Jae-wook shared a video of Leonardo DiCaprio clapping from a film on his social media, reflecting his joy, while singer Park Hyo-shin wrote, "I pray that today can be a comfort to us more than any words can express."
Actor Lee Dong-wook also shared a screenshot of himself listening to Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" on the fan community platform Bubble, stating, "It feels like spring is getting closer. I hope you all have a warm end to the year." Previously, after a rally for impeachment, he had sent a message encouraging warmth and hope, quoting, "Take me to the magic of the moment on a glory night where the children of tomorrow dream away in the wind of change."
