Song Joong-ki's 'Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances' Opens Strong at Box Office

The film 'Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances' (보고타: 마지막 기회의 땅), starring Song Joong-ki (송중기) and directed by Kim Sung-jae (김성제), debuted at number two on the box office charts on its opening day. According to the integrated ticketing system on January 1, 2025, the film was screened 3,876 times across 1,029 theaters nationwide, attracting 97,296 viewers.

Set in the aftermath of the IMF crisis, the story follows Kook-hee (송중기) as he travels to Bogotá, Colombia, in search of new hope. There, he becomes entangled with influential figures in the Korean community, including Su-young (이희준) and Sergeant Park (권해효).

In contrast, Hyun Bin's (현빈) film 'Harbin' (하얼빈), directed by Woo Min-ho (우민호), topped the box office on the same day, drawing 212,408 viewers from 6,995 screenings across 1,526 screens. Having premiered on December 24, 2024, 'Harbin' is on track to surpass 3 million total admissions soon.
