Song Joong-ki Shares His Joy of Becoming a Father of Two

On December 23, actor Song Joong-ki opened up about his experience as a father of two during an interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. He expressed, "When I first held my daughter, it felt completely different from when I held my son. My sense of responsibility as both a father and an actor has grown significantly."
In his latest film, 'Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances' (보고타: 마지막 기회의 땅), Song Joong-ki showcased his ability to deliver lines in Spanish flawlessly. He shared, "Learning Spanish was a lot of fun. A friend who is five years younger than me taught me; he was born in Korea but lived in Colombia for a long time since he was a baby. The unique rhythm of Spanish really resonated with me, and I’m still studying it little by little. I’ve developed a passion for it as I continue to learn. Even on days when I wasn’t filming in Bogotá, I made an effort to learn more from the local staff and people. I also naturally use Spanish at home with my wife."
Song Joong-ki married British actress Katie Louise Saunders in January last year and welcomed their first child. Recently, they celebrated the arrival of their second daughter, receiving many congratulations. He reflected on the moment he first held his daughter, saying, "It felt different from holding a boy. Even though she’s a newborn, I could feel the difference as I held her close. I can’t forget that feeling. Both of my children are growing up healthy, and my wife is recovering well after giving birth. She hasn’t seen 'Bogotá' yet but plans to watch it once she’s fully recovered. I’m currently busy with promotional activities for the film and filming 'My Youth' with Chun Woo-hee. Thankfully, my wife has been incredibly supportive. With the arrival of our child, my responsibilities as a father and an actor have increased."
'Bogotá', set to release on December 31, tells the story of Guk-hee (played by Song Joong-ki), who travels to Bogotá, Colombia, filled with hope after the IMF crisis, and becomes entangled with influential figures in the Korean community there, played by Lee Hee-joon and Kwon Hae-hyo. Directed by Kim Sung-jae, known for 'Minority Opinion', the film features Song Joong-ki as a young man dreaming of rising from the lowest to the highest positions in life.
