Song Joong-ki and Hyun Bin Showcase Family Love at Recent Events

On December 19, 2024, a press screening for the film 'Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances' took place at Megabox COEX in Seoul, where actor Song Joong-ki made a notable appearance. During the event, he addressed concerns regarding the film's portrayal of Bogotá, Colombia, as a hub for illegal smuggling.

'Bogotá: The Land of Last Chances' tells the story of South Koreans who venture into the smuggling market in Bogotá, a place chosen by those with no hope left. The film has raised some concerns due to its negative depiction of a real country. In response, Song Joong-ki shared, "I remember some people asking me about this. My mother-in-law is Colombian, and my wife and family live there, so we have connections to the country." This was the first time he mentioned his in-laws, drawing attention from the audience.

Last year, Song Joong-ki married British actress Katy Louise Saunders and welcomed their first son. Recently, he also announced the birth of their second daughter. He expressed his fondness for Colombia, stating, "The Colombia I experienced is vibrant and full of warmth, and the food is absolutely delicious. The people are very friendly. I have many joyful memories from filming there, and it felt like a familiar place because of my family."

In a similar vein, fellow actor Hyun Bin has also been openly expressing his family affection. Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, who starred together in the 2018 film 'Negotiation' and the 2019 drama 'Crash Landing on You', married in March 2022 and welcomed a healthy son in November of the same year. On December 18, Hyun Bin appeared on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block', where he shared insights about their love story, marriage, and parenting.

When asked about his recent activities, Hyun Bin mentioned, "I spend a lot of time with my child. Today, I was worried because my son had a fever while I was heading to the recording. I’ve become quite the doting dad." He also reflected on the moment he first saw his son, saying, "It’s hard to put into words. He just turned two, and I think he resembles his mother more."

Hyun Bin humorously added, "My wife hopes he takes after her, while I wish he takes after me. I have sharper features, and she has rounder ones, so I think a boy might be better off with a bit of sharpness."

When not filming, Hyun Bin dedicates his time to parenting, often hearing his son call him 'Dad', which brings him joy. He expressed his love for Son Ye-jin, saying, "It’s hard to pinpoint when it all started, but it naturally developed after we finished our projects together. I have great respect and gratitude for my wife, especially for her efforts in raising our child while I was away filming."

Recently, Hyun Bin made headlines by sending a snack truck to Son Ye-jin's film set, stating, "This is her first project after our marriage. I wanted to support her and sent it under our son's name to cheer her on."
