Son Heung-min's Agency Denies Pregnancy Claims, Vows Strong Legal Action

Son Heung-min (손흥민), the 33-year-old forward for Tottenham Hotspur and the South Korean national football team, is at the center of a scandal involving alleged extortion related to false pregnancy claims. On May 15, police arrested two individuals, a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s, for attempting to extort money from Son by falsely claiming she was pregnant with his child. The woman, identified as A, reportedly sent fabricated ultrasound images to Son's representatives, demanding 300 million KRW (approximately $250,000). Son's agency stated that he is a clear victim in this case and will not seek leniency for the perpetrators. It has been revealed that A had been in a relationship with Son and began her extortion attempts in June of the previous year. The police are investigating the authenticity of the documents provided by A, as they suspect they may be fraudulent. Furthermore, the man, identified as B, who was in a relationship with A, later threatened Son's team for an additional 70 million KRW, claiming he would expose the pregnancy story to the media. After enduring three months of threats, Son decided to take a stand against the false allegations and pursue legal action. His agency has initiated the process of filing a lawsuit against the individuals involved. B has a history of similar offenses, and both suspects were apprehended following the issuance of arrest warrants by the police.
