Soldier Sentenced for Threatening Superior After Disciplinary Action

A soldier has been sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years, after threatening a superior officer. The ruling was made by Judge Park Dong-wook at the Chuncheon District Court on July 4. The soldier, identified as A (23), was reprimanded by Sergeant B for issues related to missed meals and proxy signing in March of last year at a military dining facility in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. Angered by the reprimand, A verbally abused B and made threatening gestures, stating, 'I can't hit you, but should I kill you?'
While being directed to the administrative office by Sergeant C, A attempted to silence B, who refused to comply. A then warned, 'Just wait until I get discharged.' Upon arriving at the administrative office, A further threatened B, saying, 'You better watch out when I get discharged.' Judge Park noted the severity of A's threats and his previous history of juvenile offenses, which contributed to the court's decision.
