Solar Prepares for Her Role in 'Mata Hari' with Image Training

Solar, a member of the girl group Mamamoo, shared her thoughts on the upcoming musical 'Mata Hari' ahead of its opening on the 5th. She expressed her excitement, stating, "Since 'Mata Hari' is my musical debut, I really wanted to take on this role again. This season, I hope to present a deeper and more relaxed version of my character."
To fully embody the character of Mata Hari, Solar has been engaging in image training, saying, "I have been working hard to become Mata Hari rather than just Solar in every aspect. I want to deliver a high-quality performance."
In this production, Solar has been cast in the same role as Ok Joo-hyun. She remarked, "There are so many things I learn from her that it's hard to pinpoint just one. I admire how she maintains the weight of the crown with such grace and elegance while we perform together."
Discussing the allure of the musical stage, Solar noted, "While singing is important, conveying emotions through dialogue offers a different experience. These elements of musical theater present a unique charm compared to performing as a singer."
'Mata Hari' is based on the true story of the dancer Mata Hari (born Margaretha Geertruida Zelle), who was executed by firing squad after being arrested by French authorities on charges of being a double agent during World War I.
The musical will run at the LG Arts Center in Magok-dong, Seoul, until March 2 of next year.
