SM Entertainment Celebrates 30th Anniversary with New SMTOWN Album

SM Entertainment has marked its 30th anniversary by releasing a new SMTOWN group album titled ‘2025 SMTOWN: THE CULTURE, THE FUTURE’ on February 14 at 6 PM KST. The album features all tracks available on various music streaming platforms, along with the music video for the title track ‘Thank You.’
Since the release of their first album ‘Christmas in SMTOWN.com’ in 1999, SMTOWN albums have showcased the diverse talents of SM artists, offering a rich and vibrant musical experience. The latest album, released on the very day of SM's anniversary, is particularly significant as it includes 17 remakes of legendary SM hits, reinterpreted by both senior and junior artists, reflecting the company's strong musical heritage.
Notable remakes include Kangta’s version of S.E.S.'s ‘Just A Feeling,’ BoA’s take on SHINee’s Jonghyun’s ‘End Of A Day,’ TVXQ’s rendition of Red Velvet’s ‘Psycho,’ Super Junior’s cover of Shinhwa’s ‘I Pray 4 U,’ Girls' Generation’s reinterpretation of The Grace’s ‘My Everything,’ EXO’s version of H.O.T.’s ‘Git It Up!’, and many more from artists like NCT 127, NCT DREAM, and aespa.
The title track ‘Thank You’ is a modern and classic pop standard that combines mystical synth sounds with lively guitar melodies, featuring smooth vocal harmonies. The lyrics express gratitude for the precious moments shared over the past 30 years, the miraculous faith in one another, and a love that remains unchanged.
The album also showcases the collaborative efforts of SM's leading composer KENZIE, alongside artists like Kangta and BoA, and a total of 14 SM groups, each contributing their unique vocal colors and emotional expressions.
The accompanying music video features evocative animations and a chronological display of past SM artists' music videos, creating a nostalgic journey through time.
With ‘2025 SMTOWN: THE CULTURE, THE FUTURE,’ SM Entertainment encapsulates its 30-year history and showcases its enduring strength, leaving fans eager to see what the future holds.
