Singer-Songwriter iiso Releases New EP 'Ash' Today, Marking a Year Since Last Comeback

Singer-songwriter iiso (이소) is making her long-awaited return with the release of her new EP 'Ash' today, November 24, after a year away from the music scene. According to Universal Music, the new single 'Ash' will be available on various streaming platforms at 6 PM KST.

The track 'Ash' serves as a pre-release for her upcoming EP and marks the beginning of iiso's journey as an indie artist, generating excitement for her future endeavors. The album cover, shot by iiso herself, along with her independent production, reflects her personal growth and unique sonic experimentation over the past year.

Musically, 'Ash' features a UK Garage rhythm, incorporating sampled pads, digitally played double bass, and flute, creating a sophisticated yet fresh atmosphere that blurs the lines between analog and digital sounds.

The lyrics express a desire to be a warm person like the sun, using the imagery of warmth and ash to candidly reveal her vulnerable and fearful emotions. This soundscape evokes a poignant feeling, reminiscent of digital attempts to mimic the uniqueness of analog.

iiso made her official debut in the K-pop industry in July 2022 with her first single 'Signs' (싸인스). Since then, she has actively participated in writing, composing, and producing her music, establishing her own distinctive musical world.
