Singer Sung Si-kyung Faces Criticism After YouTube Launch, Showcases $6,000 Skin Treatment

Singer Sung Si-kyung (성시경) has recently come under fire following the release of his new YouTube content titled '꾸밀텐데' (I Want to Style). In a video posted on July 18, he showcased a skin treatment worth approximately 7.5 million won (around $6,000), drawing significant attention.

In the video, Sung visited a dermatology clinic, explaining, "I have an album jacket shoot in 12 days. It's hard to diet because of recording, but I'm doing my best to prepare." He humorously admitted to having previously tried treatments like Rejuran and procedures for losing belly fat, which he felt were ineffective.

During his consultation, he asked the doctor whether it would be better to undergo one treatment or multiple at once. The doctor advised that combining treatments would enhance the results. Sung jokingly responded, "I need to earn a lot of money!"

Ultimately, he decided to spend 7.26 million won on the treatments, dramatically exclaiming, "Just try not to make me pretty!" after completing the payment, which elicited laughter from those present.

Previously, after the debut of '꾸밀텐데', Sung faced harsh criticism regarding his styling choices, with some fans suggesting he should change his stylist. In response, he expressed his surprise at the negative feedback, stating, "I didn't suddenly decide to become a super stylish fashionista. I'm just a 40-year-old man who knows nothing about fashion, trying to learn with help. Perhaps expectations were too high."

He also addressed comments about changing his staff, urging fans not to blame his team, saying, "It's not the stylist or hair team; it's just my round face and hair for now." He asked fans to be considerate of the staff who are trying their best.
