Singer Shin Ji Announces Marriage to Fellow Artist Moon Won Amidst Controversy

Singer Shin Ji (신지) has officially announced her marriage to fellow artist Moon Won (문원), who is seven years her junior. This announcement coincided with the release of her new song, leading to speculation about potential 'noise marketing'. On July 15, during her guest appearance on the SBS variety show 'Shoe Off, Dolsing For Men' (신발 벗고 돌싱포맨), Shin Ji candidly shared the story of her relationship with Moon Won, from their initial meeting to their wedding plans.

Shin Ji recounted how their connection began when Moon Won appeared as a guest on her radio show. He later reached out via direct message, asking, 'Can I cover this song, senior?' This led to them exchanging contact information to share the music file. She humorously noted that she treated the younger artists who covered her songs, but that was the last time they met before their relationship blossomed.

She also revealed a past incident involving a stalker that required police intervention, during which Moon Won provided her with support, deepening their bond. When fellow guest Lee Sang Min (이상민) jokingly asked if they had been together since that incident, comedian Kim Ji Min (김지민) quickly interjected, causing laughter among the cast. Lee Sang Min clarified that he meant they were there for each other during that time.

Regarding the timing of her marriage announcement and the release of her new song 'Salagadoola' (샬라카둘라), Shin Ji addressed the allegations of noise marketing. She stated, 'The marriage news unexpectedly broke just before the music release. In fact, we had to reduce our joint appearances due to the overwhelming attention. This was not a planned marketing strategy at all.'

Shin Ji and Moon Won shared their wedding news after a photoshoot on June 23 in Seoul. They have since released a duet, marking their official debut as a couple and receiving warm congratulations from fans.
