Singer Lim Young-woong Donates 200 Million Won to Flood Victims

Singer Lim Young-woong (임영웅) has once again demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy. On July 20, the Community Chest of Korea (사랑의열매), led by Chairman Kim Byung-jun (김병준), announced that Lim Young-woong and his agency, Fish Music (물고기뮤직), donated 200 million won to assist victims affected by recent heavy rainfall. Both Lim Young-woong and Fish Music contributed 100 million won each under the name of his fan club, Hero Era (영웅시대). The funds will be allocated for emergency relief, temporary housing, livelihood support, and recovery efforts for those impacted by the torrential rains across the country.

Lim Young-woong expressed his concern for those whose lives have been disrupted by the sudden downpour, stating, "My heart feels heavy thinking about those who are enduring each day in fear and uncertainty. Although this is a small gesture, I hope it brings some comfort, and I sincerely wish for everyone to return to their normal lives as soon as possible."

This is not the first time Lim Young-woong has engaged in charitable activities. Since 2021, he has consistently contributed through the Community Chest of Korea. Earlier this year, in March, he also donated funds for wildfire recovery efforts under the name of Hero Era. With this latest donation, his total contributions to the Community Chest of Korea have reached an impressive 2.3 billion won.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters, as of 6 PM on July 20, the heavy rains have resulted in 17 fatalities and 11 missing persons. Over 13,000 individuals from approximately 9,700 households have been evacuated, with around 2,700 still unable to return home.
