Singer Lee Jeok Mourns the Passing of Seo Dong-wook
On December 21, singer Lee Jeok expressed his sorrow over the loss of his dear friend, Seo Dong-wook. He shared, "I have just said goodbye to a friend whom I loved and respected deeply, someone with whom I shared everything. He was my close friend, a colleague, a neighbor, and an uncle to my children." Lee continued, "I fear that his absence will be felt too often, but I am grateful for everything he has given me. I pray from the depths of my heart that he finds peace in a good place. I love you, Dong-wook."
Seo Dong-wook passed away on December 18 at the age of 50 due to an illness. He first gained recognition in 1993 when he won the grand prize at MBC's 'University Song Festival' alongside his college friend Kim Dong-ryul. The following year, he debuted with the band 전람회 (The Exhibition), which released popular hits like 'Memory's Sketch' and 'Drunken Confession' before disbanding after three years.
After the disbandment, Kim Dong-ryul formed a new group called Carnival with Lee Jeok, while Seo pursued a successful career in business, serving as the representative of Alvarez & Marsal's Korean branch after working with firms like McKinsey & Company, Doosan Group, and Morgan Stanley.
