Singer and Dentist Lee Ji-young Exposes Husband's Secret Financial Issues

On March 5, ahead of the March 8 broadcast of MBN's 동치미 (Dongchimi), singer and dentist Lee Ji-young revealed troubling financial secrets about her husband. During a discussion themed 'My Wife Earns, So I Live,' she shared a shocking story about her husband's hidden land purchase.

Lee explained that after she gave birth, her husband quit his job to take care of their child, which made her uncomfortable as she didn't want him to feel less than. To maintain his dignity, she provided him with a small monthly allowance for personal expenses. However, she soon discovered that her husband, a former sports enthusiast with a passion for motorcycles, had accumulated a significant amount of biking gear, which surprised her when they moved to a smaller home.

She expressed her frustration, noting that her husband views sports as requiring equipment rather than being done barehanded. Recently, she found a large suitcase that he had purchased for a ski trip, which he planned to take with friends. Given the current economic downturn affecting her dental practice and her new business venture in oral probiotics, she felt overwhelmed by the financial strain.

The situation escalated when she discovered a debt collection notice addressed to her husband, revealing that he had secretly bought land in Hongcheon for 120 million KRW, which was now at risk of foreclosure due to unpaid loans. Lee confronted her husband about the 20 million KRW needed to extend the loan, which he was too proud to ask her for. In a panic, he considered letting the land go to auction.

Determined to resolve the issue, Lee offered to lend him the money, which he later repaid after the land was sold two years later. She emphasized that while she didn't inquire about the sale price, she was relieved to have her 20 million KRW back. Lee concluded by warning her husband to be cautious with his spending habits, as continued financial missteps could lead to a reduction in his allowance.
