Signal Season 2 Confirmed for 2026 Release

The long-awaited signal has been received! tvN has officially announced the launch of Season 2 of the hit drama Signal (시그널), which took the television world by storm in 2016. On March 5, tvN revealed that the beloved series will return as 'Second Signal' (두 번째 시그널), aiming for a premiere in the first half of 2026, coinciding with the network's 20th anniversary.

Originally aired in 2016, Signal follows detectives from the present and the past who communicate through a mysterious walkie-talkie to solve cold cases. The show was praised for its unique premise, intense storytelling, and memorable quotes like, "The past can be changed. Don't give up." The finale achieved an impressive average rating of 13.4%, peaking at 15%, solidifying its status as a legendary drama in Korean television history (Nielsen Korea, based on paid platform nationwide households).

In the upcoming season, fans can expect to see the return of key cast members, including Kim Hye-soo as detective Cha Soo-hyun, Jo Jin-woong as Lee Jae-han, and Lee Je-hoon as profiler Park Hae-young. Writer Kim Eun-hee will reprise her role as the screenwriter, while director Ahn Tae-jin, known for his work on the film Owl (올빼미), will helm the project, promising a high-quality time-slip investigation drama.

With Season 1 concluding with an open ending regarding the survival of a long-missing person, anticipation is already building for the new storylines in Season 2.
