Shinhwa's Lee Min-woo Announces Marriage, Joining Fellow Members in Family Life

Lee Min-woo (이민우), a member of the legendary K-pop group Shinhwa (신화), has announced his marriage, becoming the fourth member of the group to tie the knot. On July 25, 2025, he shared the news through a heartfelt handwritten letter on his social media, expressing his desire to inform his fans, known as Shinhwa Changjo (신화창조), first.

In his letter, Lee reflected on the challenges he has faced recently, stating, "During difficult times, I spent a lot of time with my family, which made me reconsider the meaning of family. I have always had a vague wish to build a family that supports each other. After confirming our mutual feelings, I decided to marry someone I have cherished for a long time."

He acknowledged that the news might come as a surprise to his fans and expressed his concern about how to share it. Lee wanted to ensure that Shinhwa Changjo heard the news directly from him, rather than through other sources. He asked for their warm blessings, saying, "I hope you can celebrate this with a warm heart, as I want to receive congratulations from the fans I cherish the most."

Lee Min-woo also took a moment to express his gratitude to his fans, saying, "I have been fortunate to receive endless love and support from Shinhwa Changjo throughout my teenage years, twenties, and thirties. Thanks to your warm encouragement, I have found the courage to take another step forward. Despite the tough times, I have never been unhappy living as Lee Min-woo on stage."

With this announcement, Lee joins his fellow Shinhwa members Eric (에릭), Junjin (전진), and Andy (앤디) in the ranks of married men. His fiancée's story will be revealed in the upcoming episode of KBS 2TV's reality show 'Salim Namja-deul Season 2' (살림하는 남자들 시즌2) in early August.

Lee Min-woo's journey to this happy moment has not been without its challenges. In June 2019, he faced controversy after an incident at a bar in Gangnam, where he was accused of inappropriate behavior. His agency clarified that it was a misunderstanding, and he was ultimately cleared of any charges.

After returning to his activities, Lee suffered another setback when he was scammed by a friend of his sister, who deceived him out of a significant amount of money. This incident caused him considerable distress, leading to health issues, including facial paralysis due to stress. He has since been open about his struggles and the importance of seeking treatment.

Despite these hardships, Lee Min-woo is now ready to embark on a new chapter in his life through marriage, marking a joyful new beginning.
