Shin Ji's Fiancé Moon Won Addresses Rumors and Confirms Amicable Divorce

Moon Won, the fiancé of singer Shin Ji, has publicly addressed the negative comments and rumors that surfaced following the release of a video featuring him and the members of Koyote during their family meeting. It has been confirmed that his divorce from his ex-wife was amicably settled. According to OSEN's investigation on July 3, Moon Won and his former spouse reached a mutual agreement for their divorce, and currently, the custody of their daughter is held by his ex-wife. Moon Won continues to maintain a responsible relationship with his daughter as a father.
After revealing that he is a single father with a daughter, an anonymous netizen claiming to be a 'friend of the ex-wife' made allegations online, suggesting that the divorce was due to one-sided fault and urged others to check the divorce records, which fueled further controversy. This post, lacking any evidence, contributed to a negative perception of Moon Won, leading to unverified comments on Shin Ji's YouTube videos and social media.
However, since Moon Won and his ex-wife divorced by mutual consent, there are no official records detailing the reasons for their separation. The absence of specific reasons in the divorce documentation is due to the agreement between the parties involved.
The controversy escalated following the announcement of Moon Won's engagement to Shin Ji, with various unverified claims about his past, including allegations of 'double dating and premarital pregnancy,' 'military violence,' and 'illegal real estate dealings.' Some of these rumors have been confirmed as false, while Moon Won has personally addressed and clarified others.
On July 3, Moon Won took to his social media to express his concerns about the distorted narratives surrounding him since the engagement news broke. He stated, "I have taken time to verify the facts to ensure that my memories are not misrepresented."
He acknowledged, "It is true that I worked in real estate without a license during my early career, as I was advised by a friend to do so for financial support. I did not realize it was wrong to operate without a license, and I take full responsibility for my actions. I sincerely apologize to those I have disappointed and will take responsibility for my mistakes."
However, he firmly stated, "I want to clarify that some of the allegations are completely false. Claims that I bullied friends or juniors during school or military service are untrue, and I am willing to provide objective evidence to prove this if necessary."
Regarding his previous marriage, he confirmed, "It is true that I married my ex-wife due to a premarital pregnancy, but the claim that I was involved with someone else during that time is also false. As for the name change controversy, my real name is Park Sang-moon, and I only changed my stage name from Gi-ryeon to Moon Won; I have never legally changed my name. I kindly ask everyone to refrain from spreading unverified rumors and false information."
In closing, he expressed, "I apologize once again for any distress caused. I reflect on my shortcomings and aim to be a more responsible person in my life with Shin Ji. I bow my head in apology once more."
Meanwhile, Shin Ji announced her engagement to the seven years younger singer Moon Won last month. The couple met through MBC Radio's 'Lee Yoon-seok and Shin Ji's Single Bungle Show' and recently completed their wedding photoshoot ahead of their wedding planned for the first half of next year.
