Shin Gi-ru to Host 20th Anniversary Fan Meeting

Shin Gi-ru is set to celebrate his 20th debut anniversary with a special fan meeting. During the May 17 episode of MBC's variety show, 전지적 참견 시점 (My Little Old Boy), he shared his plans for the event.

Reflecting on his two to three years of active career despite the two-decade milestone, Shin Gi-ru stated, "There will be no admission fee. I will cover the venue costs myself. I plan to do a photoshoot and create 50 limited edition copies, including a couple of semi-nude shots, though a full nude photo book feels a bit much."

His manager also prepared a psychological assessment for him. Shin Gi-ru expressed, "After 20 years in the industry, I often wonder if I’m okay. I’m curious if I’m a strong person who can endure." When asked about his 17 years of being an unknown artist, he admitted, "It was incredibly tough. Seeing others succeed gave me hope, and that’s what kept me going."

After the drawing assessment, the counselor remarked, "You have a very gentle and kind heart. It seems like no one tells you that it’s okay not to be perfect. People around you might not recognize how hard you’re trying," which brought Shin Gi-ru to tears. He added, "I felt stressed when things weren’t going well, and now that they are, I dislike feeling stressed. I think I struggled to admit how hard it was for me."

Following the session, Shin Gi-ru met with close friends Jang Do-yeon, Lee Eun-hyung, and Heo Anna. He reflected, "It’s my 20th anniversary, and I’ve looked back on my journey from being unknown to where I am now. I’ve gained money and people, but in the end, it’s the people that matter. I realized that having you all made it less difficult for me."
