Shim Hyun-seop Receives Marriage Approval on 'Joseon's Love Fool'

In the latest episode of TV Chosun's 'Joseon's Love Fool' aired on January 20, Shim Hyun-seop finally received the long-awaited approval for marriage. During the episode, he repeatedly expressed his desire for a loving and supportive family, asking for permission to marry his partner, Yeong-rim. Meeting Yeong-rim's parents, Shim appeared visibly nervous.
The couple, who had previously faced a breakup but reconciled, created a sense of anticipation as they approached Yeong-rim's father for his blessing. Shim, who currently resides in Ulsan, remarked, "Today is the day I hope to receive the marriage approval from Yeong-rim's parents."
Upon arriving at the restaurant with Yeong-rim and her parents, Shim lightened the mood by mentioning Yeong-rim's charming personality, which helped ease the initial tension. Yeong-rim noted, "My parents really like you," to which her father responded, "If my daughter likes you, we have no reason to oppose. You two should date more."
Shim awkwardly interjected, "Actually, we are already dating," leading to a light-hearted moment. However, the father suggested they should date longer before discussing marriage, to which Shim countered, "The duration isn't the only important factor."
As the conversation progressed, Shim expressed his gratitude for Yeong-rim's influence on his personal growth, stating, "I've matured since meeting her, and she makes me laugh a lot."
Finally, Shim cautiously broached the subject of marriage, saying, "Months have passed since you asked why I was in such a hurry. I would be grateful if you could approve our marriage so that we can live happily together as husband and wife."
Yeong-rim's father responded positively, saying, "Since my daughter is so fond of you, I have no reason to oppose. I hope you both live beautifully together in the future." Overwhelmed with emotion, Shim celebrated the approval, and everyone shared in the joy of the moment. Yeong-rim's father humorously noted how parents on TV often oppose their children's relationships, to which Shim agreed, calling it a tragedy.
