SEVENTEEN's Special Unit BSS to Release New Single 'TELEPARTY' on January 8
The special unit of SEVENTEEN, known as BSS (부석순), consisting of members Seungkwan (승관), Dokyeom (도겸), and Hoshi (호시), is set to return with their second single titled 'TELEPARTY' on January 8, 2024. Pledis Entertainment announced this exciting news on December 27, releasing a trailer for the single on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel and SEVENTEEN's official social media accounts.
The trailer conveys a warm and cheerful message from BSS, asking, 'How is your youth?' and emphasizing that 'youth is right now.' The narrative begins with the question, 'What is youth? Is it simply being young in age?' and progresses to showcase the daily lives of people of all ages, concluding that 'youth is about enjoying life in the present moment.'
BSS takes on the role of 'youth guardians,' providing free time to students burdened by their studies and stepping in to help overworked employees. The members also play matchmakers for two middle-aged individuals, adding a heartwarming touch to the trailer.
A familiar face makes a cameo appearance as actor Moon Sang-hoon (문상훈) reprises his role from the popular YouTube segment 'Moon Teacher' (문쌤), enhancing the fun with a playful skit alongside BSS.
According to Pledis Entertainment, 'TELEPARTY' is a blend of 'Telepathy' and 'Party,' symbolizing a 'party connected through telepathy with everyone in the world.' BSS aims to convey the message that 'if you are happy in this moment, anyone can be young, regardless of age.' This album has been meticulously planned and produced since the first half of this year, promising high-quality music.
This upcoming release marks BSS's first new music in nearly two years, following their debut single 'SECOND WIND' in February 2022. With that release, they achieved record-breaking sales for K-pop unit albums, topped major domestic music charts, and won eight music show awards, solidifying their status as a leading K-pop unit.
Recently, SEVENTEEN held their 'SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN,' performing ten sold-out shows across four major domes, attracting over 435,000 fans. The group is set to continue their performances in major stadiums across Asia in January and February 2024.
