SEVENTEEN Wins Two Grand Prizes at 2024 MAMA Awards, Emotional Moments Shared

SEVENTEEN celebrated a remarkable achievement at the 2024 MAMA AWARDS JAPAN, held on November 23 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, where they took home two prestigious awards: Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. The members were visibly emotional during their acceptance speeches, with Woozi shedding tears that smudged his eye makeup, capturing the audience's attention.

The first award presented was for Album of the Year, which was received by Dokyeom. He expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am so thankful to receive the Album of the Year award again this year, just like last year. Thank you to our fans, Carats. It feels wonderful to be rewarded for our hard work this year."

Following this, Seungkwan acknowledged Woozi's contributions, stating, "The award is named Album of the Year, and yesterday was Woozi's birthday. I want to thank him for his significant efforts in creating this album. This album was also a collaborative effort with Jun and Jeonghan, who are not here today. We will continue to produce great albums in the future."

As they received the Artist of the Year award, Dokyeom again expressed his appreciation, saying, "I am incredibly grateful to receive two major awards at MAMA. The reason we can receive these awards is because of our Carats. Thank you for making today a happy day."

S.Coups, visibly emotional, remarked, "I wish Jeonghan and Jun could have received this award with us." Currently, Jeonghan is on hiatus due to military service obligations, while Jun is balancing his activities in China.

Woozi also showed his emotions as he spoke, saying, "SEVENTEEN has won the grand prize for two consecutive years, and this year we received two awards. It’s a place I never even imagined being in. It was my birthday yesterday, and receiving these awards feels like the best birthday gift."

As the main producer of SEVENTEEN's albums, Woozi stated, "I have been making music for ten years, and I can confidently say I have never neglected my music studies. I will continue to repay this kindness. I believe the best way for a singer to repay is through the best music. We will remain steadfast as 13 members."

In total, SEVENTEEN won four awards at the MAMA AWARDS, including Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Male Group, and the VISA SUPER STAGE award.
