SEVENTEEN Triumphs at 2024 MAMA AWARDS with Five Wins Including Two Grand Prizes

The K-pop group SEVENTEEN (에스쿱스, 정한, 조슈아, 준, 호시, 원우, 우지, 디에잇, 민규, 도겸, 승관, 버논, 디노) showcased their status as one of the top groups in K-pop by winning a total of five awards, including two prestigious grand prizes, at the '2024 MAMA AWARDS'.

Held on November 22-23 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, SEVENTEEN was honored with the 'Artist of the Year (VISA ARTIST OF THE YEAR)' and 'Album of the Year (VISA ALBUM OF THE YEAR)' awards. Additionally, they swept major categories such as 'Best Male Group', 'VISA Super Stage', and 'Fan's Choice Male Top 10', solidifying their impressive five-win achievement.

Having debuted nine years ago, SEVENTEEN's remarkable growth was evident as they celebrated their first grand prize ('Album of the Year') at last year's MAMA. Their mini-album released in October last year set a record for K-pop first-week sales with 5.09 million copies, and their best album and mini-album released this year also achieved triple million-seller status.

Uzi (우지), the group's prolific songwriter, expressed his emotions, saying, "I don’t know why my heart aches every time our team receives an award." He added, "I can confidently say that I have never neglected music research in over ten years of making music. I will repay everyone with great music until the end," and promised, "We will remain unchanged and steadfast as 13 members together."

The overall leader, S.Coups (에스쿱스), also shed tears, sharing, "I miss Jeonghan and Jun. I will convey this feeling to them as well," which deeply moved fans. Hoshi (호시) reflected on last year's award, stating, "I believe the award we received last year was a reminder that we can achieve anything if we don’t give up. These two awards this time signify that we should continue to move forward as SEVENTEEN."

SEVENTEEN concluded the MAMA ceremony with a spectacular performance, showcasing their songs 'MAESTRO', 'Ash', and 'LOVE, MONEY, FAME (feat. DJ Khaled)'. Their powerful choreography illustrated the journey of overcoming a dark world with love, enhanced by cutting-edge technology like augmented reality, which perfectly aligned with the theme 'BIG BLUR: What is Real?'.

Following the MAMA AWARDS, SEVENTEEN is set to continue their momentum with the release of their fourth Japanese single on November 27, followed by a series of ten concerts at four domes for the 'SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN'. They will also meet local fans in four Asian cities in January and February next year, and in April, they will perform at 'Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025', one of the largest music festivals in Latin America, marking a historic moment as the first K-pop artist to take the stage there.
