SEVENTEEN Tops Oricon Weekly Singles Chart with 'Shohikigen'

K-pop group SEVENTEEN (에스쿱스, 정한, 조슈아, 준, 호시, 원우, 우지, 디에잇, 민규, 도겸, 승관, 버논, 디노) has achieved a remarkable milestone by reaching the number one spot on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart with their fourth Japanese single, 'Shohikigen (消費期限/소비기한)'.

According to the latest data from Oricon on December 3, 'Shohikigen' recorded approximately 418,000 sales during the week of November 25 to December 1, making it the highest first-week sales for a single album by a foreign artist this year.

This achievement marks SEVENTEEN's fourth consecutive single to top the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart, following 'Fallin' Flower', 'Not Alone', and 'Power of Love', starting from April 2020. Oricon noted that this is the longest consecutive number one streak for a foreign artist.

Additionally, 'Shohikigen' has also secured the top position on Billboard Japan's latest Top Single Sales chart, further solidifying SEVENTEEN's strong presence in Japan.

Upon its release on November 27, 'Shohikigen' debuted at number one on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart and maintained its lead for five consecutive days. Notably, the album surpassed 400,000 sales within just three days of its release, showcasing SEVENTEEN's impressive album power.

SEVENTEEN is currently enhancing their popularity through a dome tour, having recently performed in front of 90,000 fans at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya on November 29-30. They are set to continue their 'SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN' with upcoming shows at Tokyo Dome on December 4-5, Kyocera Dome Osaka on December 12 and 14-15, and Fukuoka PayPay Dome on December 19 and 21-22.

In the United States, SEVENTEEN's global activities are also thriving. On December 1, they made history as the first K-pop artists to perform on ABC's 'The Wonderful World Of Disney: Holiday Spectacular', where they delivered a captivating performance of 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town'.

Moreover, SEVENTEEN has been nominated for the Top K-pop Touring Artist category at the upcoming 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) and will perform their mini album's title track 'LOVE, MONEY, FAME (feat. DJ Khaled)' during the ceremony on December 12.
