SEVENTEEN Takes Legal Action Against Online Harassment

SEVENTEEN's agency, Pledis Entertainment, announced on June 17, 2025, that they are actively pursuing legal action against online trolls by requesting information from overseas courts, including those in the United States. In a statement shared on the official fan community platform Weverse, the agency emphasized their commitment to protecting the rights of their artists. They are continuously gathering evidence of malicious comments through fan reports and their own monitoring efforts.
Regarding the ongoing legal proceedings, Pledis stated that the identities of certain defendants in previous lawsuits related to information leaks have been confirmed, and the cases have been forwarded to the prosecution, with the agency awaiting further developments. They have cooperated fully with the investigation to ensure that those responsible face severe penalties.
The agency also mentioned that they have been monitoring various platforms, including international social media channels and domestic communities, to collect evidence of rights violations against SEVENTEEN. This evidence has been used to file complaints with law enforcement.
In terms of addressing malicious accounts on the X platform, Pledis revealed that they have initiated legal actions, including criminal and civil lawsuits, against multiple accounts that have repeatedly posted defamatory and false information about the group. They are working to quickly identify these accounts and take appropriate follow-up actions, including legal procedures to request information from overseas jurisdictions.
Pledis expressed their serious concern over the ongoing defamation and harassment of SEVENTEEN, stating that they are committed to enhancing their monitoring and response processes to provide continuous and structural protection for the artists. They affirmed that any acts of defamation, ridicule, or slander against the artists will be met with strict legal consequences without leniency or settlement.
In related news, SEVENTEEN recently released their fifth studio album, ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY,’ which has been performing well on both domestic and international charts, maintaining a strong presence in the music industry.
