SEVENTEEN Shines at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards

The K-pop group SEVENTEEN (에스쿱스, 정한, 조슈아, 준, 호시, 원우, 우지, 디에잇, 민규, 도겸, 승관, 버논, 디노) has made a remarkable impact at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards, securing the most trophies among international artists and solidifying their status as a top K-pop group.

On March 12, the Japan Record Association announced that SEVENTEEN was honored as the 'Best Asian Artist' at the awards. This accolade is given to the Asian artist with the highest sales based on physical albums, music videos, and streaming performance. This marks SEVENTEEN's second consecutive win in this category.

Additionally, their best album '17 IS RIGHT HERE,' released in April last year, and their mini-album 'SPILL THE FEELS,' released in October, were recognized as part of the 'Best 3 Albums' in the Asian category. Notably, '17 IS RIGHT HERE' was also awarded 'Album of the Year' in the Asian section, highlighting their immense popularity in Japan. Overall, SEVENTEEN took home four awards at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards.

In a statement through their agency Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN expressed their gratitude, saying, "We are honored to receive such a valuable award again this year. We believe it is thanks to our fans, CARAT, who always support us, and everyone who loves our music. Thank you. We will continue to do our best to bring you great music."

The Japan Gold Disc Awards, which began in 1987, is an annual ceremony that recognizes artists and works that have contributed to the development of the music industry in Japan, selecting winners based on sales performance of albums and music videos released over the year.

SEVENTEEN achieved outstanding results in Japan last year, ranking highest among international artists in both the 'Combined Album Ranking' and 'Album Ranking' categories of the 'Oricon Annual Ranking 2024.' They also placed fourth in the annual 'Total Artist Sales' category announced by Oricon, achieving the highest rank for non-Japanese artists, including those from K-pop.

The group is set to meet their local fans in Japan during their upcoming fan meetings. They will hold the 'SEVENTEEN 2025 JAPAN FAN MEETING 'HOLIDAY'' at the Kyocera Dome Osaka on April 24 and 26-27, and at the Saitama Super Arena on May 10-11. Prior to that, they will host the '2025 SVT 9TH FAN MEETING 'SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND'' at the Incheon Munhak Stadium on March 20-21.
