SEVENTEEN Dominates Japanese Album Charts with 'HAPPY BURSTDAY'

SEVENTEEN (에스쿱스, 정한, 조슈아, 준, 호시, 원우, 우지, 디에잇, 민규, 도겸, 승관, 버논, 디노) has taken over major album charts in Japan with their fifth studio album, 'HAPPY BURSTDAY'. According to Pledis Entertainment, a label under HYBE Music Group, the album debuted at number one on the latest Oricon Daily Album Ranking released on May 27.
Following its release, 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' quickly climbed to the top of the real-time chart on Japan's Line Music 'Album Top 100', and it also secured the top position on the daily chart. The album has also achieved number one on both the iTunes 'Top Albums' chart and the Apple Music 'Top Albums' chart.
With 'HAPPY BURSTDAY', SEVENTEEN continues to create a sensation both domestically and internationally. The album recorded nearly 2.27 million copies sold on its release day and reached the first and second spots on the 'Worldwide iTunes Album' and 'European iTunes Album' charts, respectively.
The title track 'THUNDER' has topped the Melon 'Top 100' and Bugs real-time charts, maintaining a strong presence in the upper ranks. After its release, the song entered the 'Worldwide iTunes Song' chart at number seven and climbed to number two the following day, May 28. The music video for 'THUNDER', released on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel, has also made waves, ranking high in trending videos across various countries including Japan, Canada, Germany, and the UK, achieving the number one spot on YouTube's trending music video worldwide.
SEVENTEEN is increasing interest in their new release by appearing on various entertainment shows. Members DK and Vernon showcased their charm on web entertainment shows 'Neighborhood Star K Show' and 'Cell Phone KODE', while all 12 members displayed their exceptional teamwork on 'Na Young-seok's Wagle Wagle'.
The comeback special of their own content series 'GOING SEVENTEEN', released on May 28, has also garnered attention. This episode, produced in a fake documentary format, featured the members reenacting their early appearances on variety shows, bringing laughter to fans. The subsequent 'RINGS CEREMONY' video included heartfelt messages from the members expressing their desire to continue shining as SEVENTEEN and challenge eternity.
Additionally, SEVENTEEN will begin showcasing their new songs on various music broadcasts starting today, May 29, with their appearance on Mnet's 'M Countdown'.
