SEVENTEEN Achieves Top Rank Among Overseas Artists in Oricon's Annual Sales

The K-pop group SEVENTEEN (에스쿱스, 정한, 조슈아, 준, 호시, 원우, 우지, 디에잇, 민규, 도겸, 승관, 버논, 디노) has reached the highest position for overseas artists in the annual 'Total Sales by Artist' ranking released by Oricon. According to the rankings announced on December 27, 2024, SEVENTEEN recorded a remarkable sales figure of 6.38 billion yen, placing them fourth overall. This achievement marks the highest rank for any artist outside of Japan, including K-pop acts.

The 'Total Sales by Artist' category combines sales from music software (singles, albums, music DVDs, and Blu-rays) and digital works (digital singles, albums, and streaming). SEVENTEEN also secured the third position in the music software ranking among overseas artists, showcasing their strong album sales.

In total, SEVENTEEN has achieved the highest rank for overseas artists in four categories of the 'Oricon Annual Ranking 2024', which includes the previously released 'Combined Album Ranking' and 'Album Ranking'. Their best album '17 IS RIGHT HERE' and mini-album 'SPILL THE FEELS' ranked third and fifth, respectively, in the Combined Album Ranking. In the Album Ranking, their best album placed fourth, the mini-album fifth, and their mini-album 'SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN', released in October last year, came in at thirteenth, with three albums in the top 15.

Additionally, SEVENTEEN's fourth Japanese single 'Shohikigen (消費期限/소비기한)' ranked seventeenth in the Single Ranking, despite being released on November 27 and only having two weeks of sales counted.

This year, SEVENTEEN has demonstrated overwhelming popularity in Japan, successfully launching both albums and concerts. They held the 'SEVENTEEN 'FOLLOW' AGAIN TO JAPAN' concert series in May at Osaka's Yanmar Stadium and Kanagawa's Nissan Stadium, attracting over 254,000 fans across just four shows. Their 'SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN', held from November to December, drew in approximately 485,000 attendees. The concerts also featured the urban concert play park 'SEVENTEEN THE CITY' in six locations.

Looking ahead, SEVENTEEN plans to continue their global activities next year. They will extend their world tour to major stadiums in key Asian cities in January and February. In April, they will perform at the 'Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025', the largest music festival in Latin America, making them the first K-pop artists to take the stage in Mexico.
