SEVENTEEN Achieves Another Milestone on Billboard 200

K-pop group SEVENTEEN has once again made waves on the Billboard charts, securing a top position on the main album chart. According to a chart preview released by Billboard on June 8 (local time), SEVENTEEN's fifth studio album, 'Happy Birthday,' has debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 for the week of June 14. This achievement matches their previous best rankings set by their mini albums 'FML' and 'SEVENTEEN's Heaven.'
With this latest success, SEVENTEEN has now placed nine consecutive albums in the upper echelons of the Billboard 200, starting from their mini album 'Your Choice.' Notably, seven of these albums, beginning with their fourth studio album 'Face the Sun' and including 'Happy Birthday,' have entered the top 10.
'Happy Birthday' quickly rose to the top of the Worldwide iTunes Album chart upon its release and has dominated various domestic and international charts. The album's first-week sales exceeded 2.52 million copies, setting a record for the highest sales of any K-pop album released this year. It also topped major charts such as Japan's Oricon Weekly Combined Album Ranking and QQ Music's daily and weekly digital bestseller album categories in China.
The title track 'Thunder' has received an explosive response, reaching the top of the Bugs real-time and daily charts, as well as Melon's 'TOP 100.' It also claimed the number one spot in the digital category of the latest Circle Chart weekly chart (covering the period from May 25 to 31). Additionally, 'Thunder' has made its mark on global charts, including Billboard's Global 200 and Global (excluding the U.S.), the UK Official Chart's single downloads and sales, and Billboard Japan's Hot 100.
Thanks to the balanced popularity of both their album and digital music, SEVENTEEN achieved their fifth music show win on SBS's 'Inkigayo' on June 8 (KST). They expressed their gratitude to their fans, known as CARAT, stating, "Thank you to all the CARATs who have supported us so diligently. Thanks to you, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary meaningfully." They also took a moment to commend each other, saying, "I want to tell the members, 'You’ve worked hard.'"
