Seoul Police Declare Emergency Alert Amidst Martial Law

On December 4, 2024, at 1 AM, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency issued an 'Eul-ho Emergency' alert across its 31 police stations following the declaration of martial law. The Eul-ho Emergency is the second highest level of police emergency response. Under this alert, commanders and staff must remain in command positions and maintain emergency communication systems. Additionally, all leave for police personnel is suspended, and up to 50% of available police forces can be mobilized.
