Seo Ye-ji Reflects on Challenges in Acting Career

Actress Seo Ye-ji opened up about the difficulties she faced during her acting career. She is set to appear as a guest on TV Chosun's 'Chef Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey' (식객 허영만의 백반기행), airing on March 30 at 8:50 PM, where she will join cartoonist Heo Young-man for a trip to Wonju, Gangwon Province.
Returning to the filming location of her drama 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' (사이코지만 괜찮아), Seo expressed her excitement and nostalgia. She made her debut in the sitcom 'Potato Star 2013QR3' (감자별) and has since appeared in dramas such as 'Save Me' (구해줘) and 'Lawless Lawyer' (무법 변호사).
In recent roles, she has often portrayed dark and troubled characters, leading to misunderstandings about her true personality. When asked by Heo about the challenges she faced in acting, Seo shared, "As a public figure, I felt the need to endure the public's perception, which sometimes led to significant stress due to misunderstandings that accumulated while I remained silent."
During the show, Seo will also showcase her cover dance of 'Mantra' by BLACKPINK's Jennie, which she first performed at a fan meeting. Additionally, she and Heo will attempt to make potato dumplings at a local restaurant. Known for her culinary skills, Seo often prepares her own lunch for filming and even made a vegan birthday cake for her manager.
The duo will also experience a unique dish at a buckwheat noodle restaurant, featuring 10-year-old house-made soybean paste and various medicinal herbs in boiled pork and refreshing cold buckwheat noodles.
In a recent development, Seo Ye-ji addressed rumors regarding her relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun. On March 13, she shared a screenshot of an Instagram comment from a netizen questioning her integrity regarding Kim's dating status. Seo responded, "Dear fans, I am human too, and I find this overwhelming and exhausting. I had to delete my reply to that comment. I wish this would stop. I have no relationship with him or his brother. I don't even know why I need to clarify this, but today I feel quite frustrated."
