Seo Ye-ji Addresses Controversy with Poignant Message on Instagram
Actress Seo Ye-ji has recently confronted the controversies surrounding her with a significant message. On April 14, she shared a photo on her Instagram featuring a quote from a book that reads, "Please don’t act like nothing is wrong and behave carelessly." Although she did not provide further explanation, many netizens speculated that this was her way of expressing her feelings about the ongoing situation.
Earlier, on April 12, Seo Ye-ji appeared as the host on the second episode of Season 7 of Coupang Play's SNL Korea, where she boldly addressed her past controversies. During the opening, she humorously stated, "I will gaslight the SNL crew to make it fun," and later referenced the 'gaslighting controversy' by saying, "It’s really frustrating to sit quietly and take it. I’ve experienced that a lot."
Seo Ye-ji was previously embroiled in allegations of gaslighting her ex-boyfriend, actor Kim Jung-hyun, in 2021. It was claimed that she pressured him to refuse physical contact with his co-star during a drama shoot in 2018, which allegedly harmed the production. Some of their private conversations revealed phrases like "No skinship" and "Mr. Kim, please remove all skinship."
In January, Seo Ye-ji filed a lawsuit against over 130 online trolls at the Gangnam Police Station. Reports indicate that some of the trolls were former staff members. Her agency, Sublime Artist Agency, stated, "We will pursue strict legal action to ensure severe penalties according to the law," and emphasized their commitment to monitoring and addressing any criminal activities against their artists online without leniency or settlements.
