Seo Jeong-hee Shares Emotional Journey to Remarriage on 'Joseon’s Love Fool'

On the February 17 episode of TV Chosun's variety show 'Joseon’s Love Fool' (조선의 사랑꾼), Seo Jeong-hee opened up about her past struggles with her in-laws' disapproval of her relationship, shedding tears of joy as she finally received their blessing for remarriage.

During the episode, Seo Jeong-hee revealed that she had to seek approval from her in-laws, who had initially opposed her relationship due to her being a divorcee and older than her partner, Kim Tae-hyun. She expressed her fears, saying, "As a divorced woman with a history of illness, I worried if they would accept me."

Kim Tae-hyun shared his own regrets, stating, "I failed in my previous marriage for various reasons, and my family advised me to stay single. I felt sorry for Seo Jeong-hee because my past affected our relationship."

The couple reflected on their journey, with Seo Jeong-hee recalling how she had to bow deeply to her in-laws when they moved into their new apartment, which helped ease the tension. She humorously noted that her father-in-law had researched her and appreciated her skills in managing a household.

Despite receiving permission to date, the in-laws were still hesitant about marriage due to past traumas related to their son's previous marriage. Seo Jeong-hee expressed her desire for a blessed start to their relationship, saying, "I want to be blessed from the beginning. If I don't receive their approval, it would make me very sad."

In a tense video call with Kim Tae-hyun's parents in the U.S., Seo Jeong-hee expressed her wish for a small engagement ceremony and asked for their blessing. To her relief, the in-laws responded positively, saying they were pleased and supportive of the couple's marriage.

With tears of joy, Seo Jeong-hee thanked them, and the parents expressed their hopes for the couple to hold onto each other through any challenges, wishing them happiness and prosperity. The emotional moment highlighted the love and support from both families as they granted their approval for the couple's marriage.
