SBS Unveils Ambitious 2025 Drama Lineup After Five Consecutive Years of Ratings Success
SBS has announced its 2025 drama lineup, aiming for a sixth consecutive year of leading average viewership ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, SBS achieved a household average rating of 9.3% in 2024, solidifying its status as the top channel for dramas. The channel also led in the coveted 2049 demographic with a 3% rating, the only channel to surpass this mark.
The upcoming dramas include a mix of highly anticipated titles such as My Perfect Secretary (나의 완벽한 비서), Treasure Island (보물섬), Gwigung (귀궁), Our Movie (우리 영화), Try: We Become Miracles (트라이: 우리는 기적이 된다), Cosmic Marry Me (우주메리미), Mantis (사마귀), Taxi Driver 3 (모범택시3), Kiss Was a Mistake (키스는 괜히 해서!), and From Today, I’m Human (오늘부터 인간입니다만).
Kicking off the 2025 lineup is My Perfect Secretary, directed by Ham Joon-ho and Kim Jae-hong, featuring Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk. The drama has captivated audiences with its engaging visuals and fresh take on the classic office romance trope, achieving a peak rating of 14% and a 2049 rating of 4%.
Treasure Island, a revenge drama, follows Seo Dong-joo (played by Park Hyung-sik) as he seeks to dismantle the corrupt world that wronged him, showcasing a darker side of the actor. Gwigung, directed by Yoon Sung-sik, presents a fantasy romance where a shaman defies her fate, entangled in a body-swapping scenario.
Our Movie, directed by Lee Jung-heum, tells the story of a filmmaker facing a sophomore slump and a free-spirited aspiring actress, exploring themes of healing and love. Try: We Become Miracles is a sports drama centered on youth and rugby, featuring a strong cast including Yoon Kye-sang and Im Se-mi.
Cosmic Marry Me is a romantic comedy about two individuals in a fake marriage to win a luxurious prize, starring Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min. Mantis, featuring Go Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon, is a crime thriller about a woman imprisoned for a series of murders who finds herself in a new wave of killings mimicking her past.
Kiss Was a Mistake follows a single mother who disguises herself for work and the romantic complications that ensue with her boss. Taxi Driver 3 returns after a two-year hiatus, promising to continue its success with the original cast.
